A busy hoe is a happy hoe
What we've been up to
How can we sum up in to words what we experienced yesterday in St. Louis for PrideFest 2022. Blissfully sunburnt and blistered but basking in the ever amazing Love Glow that comes from serving and sharing space with community. The theme this year was Together Again and yes we were! Yesterday was our inaugural participation in the Pride Parade in St. Louis. Together, with the amazing youth of Rainbow Cafe LGBT Youth Center we arose at dawn (okay that may be a slight stretch for some of us but not all of us!) to travel the 2 hours by bus (with scheduled potty breaks and the obligatory McDonalds breakfast stop) to the Gateway City to meet up with fellow SOIL Sisters, Sr. Marjorie Arcana, Sr. Gay B*tch Milkshake and Sr. Jewnita Hug. As we arrived at the meet up spot we were immediately embraced by both the participants in the parade as well as the amazing LGBTQIA+ community who call St. Louis home. The rain couldn't even stop these dirty hoes from spreading the good word of the Babadook to those near and far. Finally we took to the streets after what felt like hours (okay it was like 1.5 hours of waiting around for some of us) to show the Gateway City exactly who Rainbow Cafe and the SOIL Sistes were and let us tell you they know EXACTLY who these dirty hoes are. Other houses werent joking when they said be prepared to stop every 5 feet. Pretty sure Sr. Mothra took the world record of selfies with crowds. Sr. Jewnita somehow managed to become honorary Sister for at least 5 different groups during the 1 mile extravaganza. Sr Fagatha clacked their fan while Sr. Milkshake and Marjorie shouted joy and love to everyone while our dearly missed Sr. Toggaf shouted encouragement that we were close to finishing (St. Louis you have some long long coc.....blocks....yeah blocks). By 5 pm we all loaded our bus exhausted, sore, burnt but joyful...Joyful of being able to be together almost as a complete house (Sr Kitty and Sr IDKTBD sadly were not there) and also to be able to spread the joy and love that we as Sisters have cultivated. Thank you St. Louis, Pride STL, the amazing youth of Rainbow Cafe and especially to every single person we were able to spend time with while here. We will be back.. you cant keep a dirty hoe down for long

Yesterday the reproductive rights of all in our community who have the ability to give birth to a child were attacked when the Supreme Court of the United States by a vote of 5-4 overturned Roe vs Wade. That same day in Missouri, legislation was passed which made abortions illegal. Sister Jewnita Hug and Sister Marjorie Arcana, took up the call to represent and protest for reproductive rights yesterday. Yesterdays disastrous decision, threw so many people into fear and anger and the SOIL Sisters felt it important to go join in on expressing that anger and fight that fear at Planned Parenthood in St Louis. We saw bravery, we saw people coming together for a cause forming a community and we heard Representative Cori Bush speak to the crowd. Reassuring us that while this was definitely a terrible blow, we cant and wont stop fighting. The Sisters were welcomed and they even ran into familiar faces. They joined in chant, they held space for others to feel safe and made sure to let anyone they talked to know they were loved and that a persons right to their own body and the choices they make for it are sacred. And we are also letting you know, you are loved and you are always safe with us. Hello everyone! Happy Friday Eve. Sr. Jewnita Hug here to let you all in on the SOIL Sister 411...or is it the 314.....
This weekend you can find us all in St. Louis, MO celebrating Pride. Friday the we will be at ST.LOUIS PRIDE BALL presents The Category Is. And Sunday we will be marching alongside Rainbow Cafe LGBTQ Center in the St Louis Pride Parade. Now we can't promise the most amazing weather..after all it is St. Louis and the weather is as cantankerous as I am when Sr. Marjorie Arcana tosses my lashes on the ground. BUT we can promise that we will be spreading love for all those who will accept it this weekend. Hope to see you there!!! Both Sister Jewnita Hug and Sister Marjorie Arcana picked up on their gaydar, a mass meeting of LGBTQIAA+ folks in St Charles today. They looked to the skies, interpreted the flights of birds, the shapes of clouds and even double checked the signs by throwing Jewnita's false eyelashes down onto the ground to see any patterns that developed. After it was determined that there was a gay agenda afoot, they went to investigate. What they found was shocking. A meeting of lovely LGBTQIAA+ folks gathering for a Pride event and these Sisters didn't hesitate to join in on the love and fun! They took tons of pictures, gave a million hugs petted some pups and were recognized by many in the community. Even Dieta Pepsi said HEY to the Sisters from their stage! Afterwards, they went to SugarBot Creamery to indulge in their Pride themed Milkshake and support a local smaller business who is showing love to our community. Today was such an honor. Community is what makes us who we are as Sisters and we are honored you accept and love us just as much as we love and accept you. Happy Pride St. Charles, we will be back! So this past Sunday, before our monthly Dirty Hoedown, the sisters decided to get together and beat their faces HARD. Theme was Pride and I think we were the prettiest bitches on zoom!
We have Sister IDKTBD serving you non binary artistic strength! Showing the world gender is truly only a social construct but beauty is forever! Sister Mothra Stewart serving you Radical Faery she is a rainbow mothy brilliance! Showing the world that transformation is our greatest source of strength while rubies line her lips. Sister Fagatha Hardness serving you water color supreme jeweled beauty! Her jewels glisten and her beard spells out inclusion in R.A.I.N.B.O.W while her jewels sparkle like her work as a Sister. Sister Marjorie Arcana serving you red pouty juicy lips with her signature eyeshadow shape sculpted to the Gods. Her lovely rainbow eyeshadow speaks of inclusion while her ruby lips speak it. SOIL Sisters Dirty Hoe Down Pride edition was a success, we played games, laughed and showed joy and love to each other and the audience. The next time we have a Hoedown we want you to know your invited to join us, manifested or not, just as you are. If joy is what you need then joy is what we will give! Sister TBD IDK organized a little pre-meeting face beating party so we would all be in the proper mood to conduct business at our regular monthly meeting.
Look at these beautiful manifestations of Sister TBD IDK, Sister Jewnita Hug and Sister Gay Bitch Milkshake! Yall can really beat that mug! Sister Marjorie Arcana stepped into Pagan Picnic with one idea and one mission. To spread her joy like glitter and sometimes herpes. Yesterday, she manifested blue to call the element of water into the circle.
Today, she dressed in red and made her way down merchant’s row handing out cards and hugs while connecting with community. Red was meant to honor Pentecost but also to invoke excitement and passion in those around her. This weekend was amazing and such an honor, Sister Marjorie made room in their heart for new friends and gained an understanding that community makes a sister. Thank you to Pagan Picnic for inviting the SOIL Sisters to be a part of your community. There was a lot of love, excitement, and true community. Today Sister Marjorie helped kick off Pagan Picnic by participating in the opening ritual!
She had the honor of being invited to call the element of water and she asked that water to wash over the hearts of all who attended to carry away stigmatic guilt and fill their hearts with joy, love and protection! She met with many different people from all walks of life, gave hugs, listened to stories and cuddled some puppies. Keep in mind this is only day one! Sister Marjorie Arcana will be at picnic to spread joy and her legs again tomorrow! |
