This past weekend was filled with many amazing moments of celebration and joy. We were out in full force in both St. Louis as well as in Carbondale
This past Saturday was the MGMA preliminary pageant in St. Louis, MO and our amazing Srs Jewnita Hug and Kitty Sprinkles were there to spread holiday joy and cheer as Ms. Roxxie Malone ended her reign as Ms. MGMA 2019. Assisting in the Toys for Tots drive as well as cheering and supporting the 6 amazingly talented contestants and entertainment. They shares in the joy of watching Kara Lagerfeld be crowned Ms. MGMA 2022. What a truly wonderful night shared with the community. Sisters Manifested: Sr. Jewnita Hug, Sr. Kitty Sprinkles Tonight the SoIL Sisters (Sr. Ferda Boyce, Sr. Mothra Stewart and Sr. Gay Bitch Milkshake) were able to take to the streets decked out in the most festive of holiday garb to celebrate and spread joy at the Carbondale Lights Fantastic Parade.
This amazing parade happens every year on the first Saturday in December. This year marked the 30th anniversary of this amazing event which was created by a grass roots committee as a way of bringing holiday joy and cheer to the streets of Carbondale, IL. We were beyond thrilled to spread love and joy with Rainbow Cafe for the first time as an Aspirant House. We even got to show off our amazing new coronettes! The weather could not have been any better (trust when we say, December is a crap shoot weather wise!) for a night time parade. We look forward to continuing to be a beacon of light (yes....yes we literally were beacons of light) for our LGBTQIA+ community. Look for us on December 18th as we celebrate Queermas at the Carbondale Unitarian Fellowship Sisters Manifested: Sr. Ferda Boyce, Sr. Mothra Stewart, Sr. Gay Bitch Milkshake Today is World AIDS Day. Every December 1st people worldwide unite in the fight against HIV/AIDS, and show their support to those living with HIV and remembering those who have lost their lives to an AIDS related illness. For 33 years the world has joined together to as one to bring awareness and to educate themselves and others in this pandemic. Our very own Sr. Jewnita Hug shares this on their Facebook and we wanted to share it as well. Last year I was an aspirant on December 1. This year I have the honor of being able to Manifest in honor of World AIDS Day. AIDS education, awareness and fundraising for research are part of the fundamental building blocks of the Sisters Of Perpetual Indulgence. We all know someone, have loved someone, have lost someone to this disease. A disease which does not discriminate based off race, gender, ethnicity, religion, age, etc. In honor of those living with AIDS and in Remembrance of those who have died from an AIDS related illness today I wear red.
