Mt. Vernon we see your Pride

Mt Vernon Pride Kickoff

Sisters Gay Bitch Milkshake, Fagatha Hardness, and Mothra Stewart as well as Guard Dogg (née Sr Toggaf Tuls Reeuq) attended the first anual Pride festival, “Pride Kick Off,” in Mt Vernon Illinois on Saturday May 27th! New organization, OUT Mt Vernon, sponsored the event at the Rolland Lewis building in the Veterans Memorial Park on Saturday afternoon.

Local vendors, community organizations, open and affirming churches, Cuban sandwiches, and a DJ made for a festive event. Swag was gathered, purchases were made, raffles were won, and lots of selfies were taken. One table even offered STI roulette—while “winning” at that game was definitely a bit sketch, the information and removal of stigma about STIs was on point. Sr Mothra’s spin landed on Chlamydia; no one is surprised.

Congratulations to Alexia Stallon, their mom, and the volunteer crew at OUT Mt. Vernon for putting together such a great event! Pride in Southern Illinois is officially kicked off!
