SOIL Sisters Attend Transgender Day of Remembrance Events

The SOIL Sisters participated in a couple of Trangendar Day of Remembrance (TDOR) memorials this weekend. Srs Jewnita Hug and Marjorie Arcana attended the Metro Transgender Umbrella Group's event in St. Louis while Sr Mothra Stewart attended the Rainbow Cafe's observance at the Civic Center in Carbondale.

We remember our trans siblings who we have lost. As trans folks take to the podium, we take strength from each other to persist and to thrive. We remember the living and the lost, and we stand in defiance of those who would see us erased.

Words have consequences. Hateful rhetoric drives hateful deeds, like a mass shooting in Colorado Springs. Our loving words also have consequences. We are resilient, strong, and defiant in the face of hate. We remember where our strength resides. Justice, equity, and full acceptance. Nothing less!
