The SOIL Sisters Living their lunch lady dreams!

Exhausted, sore but fulfilled. Today was the inaugural SOIL Sister: Hoe'n around the Lou... a monthly manifestion of spreading joy, love and happiness while doing hard work. This month we started our ministry by signing up for meal prep through Food Outreach.

Food Outreach is a non for profit organization who was established in 1988 who provide nutritional support and enhance the quality of life of men, women, and children living with HIV/AIDS or cancer as well as Veterans. They are the only organization providing these services in our region. So needless to say this fit right in with our mission as Sisters both with SOIL and as a mission house of the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence.

Let me tell you that they worked Sr. Jewnita and Sr. Marjorie the ENTIRE time. They cooked cod, ribs, collard greens and black eyes peas. They prepped tortellini for pasta salad. They did all the things and when finished went out and packed up the meals for freezing and distribution...we were living our lunch lady fantasy. BY the time the last table was wiped off and mopped the lastbit of floors those Sisters were spent..but filled with joy because of what accomplish.

We can't wait to be back there in September to start our monthly service with Food Outreach
